Orifice Flanges – Precision Flow Measurement Starts Here

Release Time:

Jun 30,2025

Engineered for accuracy and reliability, Taichang orifice flanges provide the critical interface between pipelines and instrumentation—ideal for oil & gas, chemical, and power systems.

ORIFICE FLANGE

Structural Features:

A pair of flanges specially designed to hold an orifice plate between them for flow measurement in a pipeline.

Each flange includes tapped holes for pressure measurement upstream and downstream of the orifice plate.

Typically used in matched pairs with precise machining to ensure alignment and sealing.

Available in RF / RTJ face types.

Installation Method:

Orifice flanges are installed in pairs with an orifice plate clamped in between.

Pressure taps (jack screw holes) are machined into the flanges to measure differential pressure.

Connected using gaskets, studs, nuts, and sometimes orifice unions.

Requires precision alignment to ensure accurate measurement and proper sealing.

Applications:

Designed for:

Flow rate measurement of liquids, gases, or steam

Differential pressure-based metering systems

Instrumentation integration in industrial pipelines

Widely used in:

Oil & Gas

Chemical Processing

Power Generation

Water & Steam Systems

Measurement & Control Systems

Common Size Standards:

-ASME B16.36 (for orifice flange dimensions)

-Flange faces follow ASME B16.5 / B16.47 standards

Pressure Ratings:

-150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#

(Pressure class matches the pipeline system)

Flange Face Types:

-RF (Raised Face)

-RTJ (Ring-Type Joint)

Materials:

Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, Duplex Stainless Steel

Orifice plates are typically stainless steel or special alloy for precision and corrosion resistance

Recommendation:

Orifice flanges are essential in systems that require accurate flow measurement using differential pressure techniques.

They are a critical interface between piping and instrumentation in industrial control systems.

Recommended wherever precision metering and system monitoring are key to operation.
